UPDATE Dead at 56: Voice of the Angels, Clippers, Kings

David Courtney spent a career in sports and his off hours in Mission Viejo.

David Courtney, public address announcer for the Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Los Angeles Clippers, died today of a pulmonary embolism. He was 56. Courtney, who lived in Mission Viejo with his wife, Janet, was the Clippers' public address announcer since 2008, the Kings' since 1989, and the Angels' since 1994.

"The Angels family is deeply saddened to hear of David's passing," Angels officials said in a statement. "He was a gentle soul, a consummate professional and an unforgettable voice tied to several professional Southern California sports teams.

"Over the past 18 years, his love, dedication and passion for the Angels was evident every time his voice rang through the ballpark. Our thoughts and prayers go out to David's family at this difficult time."

The Clippers issued a statement calling Courtney "a consummate professional who brought a unique passion and energy to every event."

Courtney also was the public address announcer of the Los Angeles Rams in their final four seasons at what was then known as Anaheim Stadium before they moved to St. Louis following the 1994 season.

Courtney, who was born in New York City, moved to Los Angeles in 1963 as his father, Alan, became president of MGM Television.

Courtney got his start in sports in 1971, working as a public relations assistant for the Kings when he was 14 years old.

"David was tremendously passionate about the Kings," Kings President of Business Operations Luc Robitaille said. "In the arena, he was an institution -- he was the voice of the Kings -- and his work added so much to the live, in-game experience for our fans as it did for the Clippers and Kings as well." --City News Service

There is a reason why sites like Patch 2.0 don't look good on Shripathi's Kindle-whatever screen,Read More but these sites do look great on the iPhone in Portrait for Landscape view. I'll be writing a post about that. If you're a business owner with a web site, you need to understand the reason in order to save money on your site.

The Bible also tells us that there were magicians who filled Egypt with blood, just like YahwehRead More helped Moses do. As to why magicians would fill the Nile (drinking supply), and their own country with blood, and stink it all up just to put Yahweh in his place is anyone's guess. Maybe this psychic can ask one of those magicians and let us know.
