Mission Viejo Tennis Instructor to Travel to Kazakstan to Teach the Game

The Central Asian country has a relatively new tennis program and federation that was established in 1992.

A press release from the city of Mission Viejo:

City of Mission Viejo tennis instructor Blaine Patton will travel to Kazakhstan Saturday to teach the game he has been perfecting for more than three decades.

Blaine, 53, was invited to the country of Kazakhstan by the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation. He will be there for 10 days to hold seminars on teaching, training and tennis philosophy for all ages and abilities.

Kazakhstan, a country located in Central Asia, with its smaller part west of the Ural River in Europe, is the 9th largest country in the world. It has a relatively new tennis program and federation that was established in 1992.

Blaine, who has been with the City for nearly two years, has been teaching tennis for 34 years and is a former collegiate and touring professional player. He led Rancho San Clemente's Pac Sun Women's teams to an unprecedented 117/120 win-lose record. His teaching style is based on sound fundamentals and building a strong foundation.

"Tennis is a great life teacher, and Blaine will be instrumental in the development of Kazakhstan's tennis goals and objectives for their country," said Mission Viejo Community Services Supervisor Brian Gruner.
