STATS: How Good was Max Redfield This Year?

Find out how many tackles and touchdowns Mission Viejo High's Max Redfield earned this season.

He won the award to become Orange County's best defender of 2012 Tuesday at Infiniti of Mission Viejo, picking up $1,000 for Mission Viejo High in the process courtesy of Cox Communications.

But senior Max Redfield was a threat on both sides of the ball this year.

So this year how good was he?

As a defensive back, Redfield racked up 65 tackles and forced two fumbles. He recovered four fumbles and picked off four passes. He also blocked four punts.

As a wide receiver, he caught 45 passes, chalking up 757 yards in the process. He ran six of those passes back for touchdowns.

The county's most dominant defender was planning to play for USC next fall. But he decommitted in November, setting off a recruiting war between Oregon and Notre Dame, according to Bleacher Report.
