Sutton's Medal Hopes Are Quashed

The 20-year-old swimmer fails to qualify for the women's 400-meter freestyle event.

Mission Viejo Nadador Chloe Sutton of Ladera Ranch missed out on a chance for a 2012 Olympic medal when she failed to qualify for the finals of the 400-meter freestyle event Sunday.

She finished 10th; her time was 4:07:7.

Sutton competed in the 10k marathon swim in the 2008 Olympics, which was held at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park in Beijing. She was the only American to qualify for the race, which lasted over two hours.
