A. Develop a Natural Gas Vehicle sector that produces at least 50% less pollution than current gasoline vehicles? Recapitalize America by domestically harvesting this fuel source creating a new multi billion dollar yearly economy in America that will help to balance budgets, fund retirement programs, pay national debt and much more. Natural Gas fuel is a transition energy source, but with over 100 years worth of supply in America, it sure is a worthy transition.
B. Invest in “green” technology that while seems great and could be, isn’t as effective currently. (Compare the electric vehicle, the 5 billion dollars already spent, public filling stations installed on government grounds in several states to recharge the batteries, and tax incentives for purchasing these vehicles. When does the tax payer stop paying and what is gained in return? Natural gas vehicles have a minimal cost and give great returns!) Question whether the production process of these technologies, are really green?
C. Continue importing over 60 percent of (Petroleum) used for transportation fuel creating huge trade deficits while funding American enemies that create regional and global instability? What are most environmentalist driving? It’s natural to fight change, but consider how your life could benefit from recapitalizing America!
Where are we today? The answer is not so simple. Our troops are poised to withdraw from Afghanistan by the end of 2014. Safety and stability is very important for our energy sector and to our economic future. This is what ills the United States and what interests me. “We can’t be all things to all people,” is a statement from president George W. Bush during his 2000 presidential run. It’s a revolving them that seems to be the opposite of what is actually done. What happens when the one really in need is US? You know the facts, and here’s my opinion.
Since the United States as a country is involved in a global economy, a global answer like American harvested natural gas fuels is needed. There is a lot of money to be made with natural gas vehicles. Understand that there is nothing bigger than Natural Gas Vehicles and a 250 billion dollar yearly economic shift in the United States favor. Being a capitalist, the monetary opportunities that will come from this potential is what I like, and so should you! Since the electric vehicle has been funded and pushed so heavily, I say look at the results. It’s time to let the better fuel source for US to be integrated.
A healthy business progression from small to large business is needed in order to continue a natural sustainable business climate. I did discuss this topic a couple of years ago on my local radio program. I didn’t receive much of a response then. It could have been that listeners were afraid to give an opinion due to its controversial nature, or don’t feel qualified to have an opinion. However; on a big business level bailouts were given to the largest of businesses in order to keep them from bankruptcy while putting an end to bad practices.
In my opinion the questionable and outrageously expensive bailout prevented the too big to fail companies from reforming their own mistakes at the expense of the smaller businesses and homeowners. Since this time a very long recession and stagflation has been occurring. Trade and national deficits have expanded and more manufacturing has been lost. This is why a real sustainable answer like natural gas vehicles is needed. Legislative power and support is essential for this to gain any ground. This is why your help is needed in order for you to help yourselves!
A natural gas vehicle program wouldn’t cost 750 billion dollars but closer to 5 billion (Same as already spent on electric vehicles) for initial infrastructure and to bring in a new $250 billion dollar economic shift yearly. To me this program would put the tarp in the trash, and give you the keys to home that you can afford, with the career that has been provided by making natural gas fuel for vehicles possible!
A while ago, I had a breakfast meeting with old employers and now friends in which we had a conversation on the state of small business and their personal history in relation to it. One of them in his 40+ years of small business starting and ownership within a particular trade felt the small business environment begin to tighten up during the early 1980’s. That trend continued to become harder for small businesses to compete, stay in business, and get funding to go into business in the first place.
During breakfast there was a general consensus that small business has to focus on quality and customer service that goes the extra distance that big business won’t. One of my friends told me that over the years there has been noticeable difference in being able to control quality. Smaller vendors become acquired during company buyouts, creating certain barriers for smaller businesses that weren’t there in the past. I could go through the detailed examples but I am going to believe that you understand already. Again, it is almost impossible to deny the efficiency and value of big business, but flipping the coin it’s also undeniable to feel the negative effects. These facts in addition to the 16 trillion dollar national debt and every other American economic concern, is the reason that I believe that natural gas vehicles will reinstall a healthy business environment.
- In 2009 the United States consumed 126,773,3888,000 gallons of refined gasoline, ethanol included (American fuels.blogspot.com/2010/04/2009-gasoline-consumption.html.) Gasoline usage is 61% of the transportation fuel market. Diesel fuel accounts for 21% of the transportation fuel market that estimates to roughly $750 billion dollars combined. According to T. Boone Pickens, natural gas fuel for vehicles would be priced between $1.50 and $2.00 per gallon.
- For this article and proposal sake, as an initial goal if 1/3 of the $750 billion dollar gas and diesel transportation market were natural gas fueled vehicles, it would create an estimated $125 billion dollar reciprocal domestic fuel economy. This cyclical trickle around economy would have a massive positive American impact.
- At the current $1.50-$2.00 per gallon price it would also save the natural gas vehicle driver and or vehicle owning company $125 billion dollars per year. This is a tertiary benefit that helps compensation and corporate profit to meet in the middle. Would cutting your vehicle fuel price in half garner your support?
Bankrupt cities! How doe this help big or small businesses? How does bankrupt cities help to fund 401k’s and pensions? According to Pat Buchanan from a recent McGlaughlin Group episode he said that Detroit has been in decline since after WW2 when “The defense industry moved jobs in Michigan to California.” According to Michael Moore its decline was a couple of decades later. Either or the result is real, and from 2003 to 2013 the population in Detroit has gone from 1,700,000 to 700,000 people making the job of governance more difficult because of the sparse population with many dilapidated and empty buildings. The question of government responsibility for this particular city is a great question to ask, but I believe that Natural Gas Vehicles changes things substantially and will help Detroit in the American Car Industry.
Last thing to discuss is the increased amount of accidents concerning natural gas via propane tanks, natural gas platform leaks, pipeline explosions, house fires, and anything else that could possible go wrong. The correct thing to say is that each instance should be taken individually. The natural gas platform in the Gulf of Mexico resulted when the pipeline was punctured and a small explosion occurred resulting in a fire.
In comparison to the BP oil spill this gas platform resulted in a non environmental hazard due to the gas burning in the fire. Accidents do occur and this is just an example of why natural gas is safer than oil! The pipelines, propane tanks, and house explosions were all sighted from human error with accidents occurring. It’s healthy to question these kinds of results and to ensure preventative precautions are taken to prevent further accidents from happening.
Natural gas fuel for vehicles has the same amount of safety as the current gasoline that you use everyday in driving your vehicle. The difference is that the United States has over 100 years worth of supply of natural gas versus importing over 60% of petroleum used for transportation from other countries. Los Angeles public bussing converted to natural gas fuels and advertises that it is 80% cleaner fuel source than petroleum gasoline.
So far no movement has been made in regards to promoting natural gas vehicles. T. Boone Pickens was the forefront promoter of this possibility, but since his legislation was bundled with other legislation and voted down by congress he hasn’t been so vocal. Some states like Massachusetts are looking for new ways to raise revenue increasing gasoline tax is one of them. Natural gas fuels can avoid that and if the rate was raised the impact would be negligible due to the price point.
I will continue to write blogs in favor of natural gas vehicles. This is the economic solution that America needs in a global environment. Natural gas vehicles will eliminate the need for “Quantitative Easing” (printing more money), with improved economic conditions and lessens the expansion of Federal Reserves influence in US economy. It also make Jack Lew’s job much easier! I need your help in spreading the message and directing anyone who is interested to read all of my blogs regarding natural gas vehicles.
As a college graduate with student loans, opportunity is a good thing to have. Money solved a lot of my problems and the lack of it did the opposite. I believe that it is better to occupy Wall Street through investing in Wall Street. Natural gas vehicles using American harvested natural gas will allow you to have a good career, live a better life, and own the freedom of your future.
