Mission Viejo Presented School Bell Award

Editor's Note: The following comes from Eilene Fletcher, publicist for the Assistance League of Saddleback Valley.

On Wed. June 5th, we held our 2013-2014 Installation of Officers at Dove Canyon Country Club.

A highlight of the meeting was the "Operation School Bell Award" presented to the City of Mission Viejo for their generous support in yearly grant awards to our chapter to support our Operation School Bell philanthropy. Since 1996 the city of Mission Viejo has awarded nineteen grants totaling over $61,000 for Operation School Bell.

With this assistance we clothe the children in Saddleback Valley schools each year, with a $100 gift card to spend at Target.

This award is from our National Assistance League and we were honored to have Mission Viejo Mayor Rhonda Reardon attend to accept it.

Members and friends welcomed Elaine Carter as incoming President for 2013-2014. The theme of the day was “Rebuilding ALSV” as each newly installed officer placed blue or red boxes to build a five foot tall structure topped with a red bow and the National Assistance League logo.

Incoming Officers for the coming year include Membership Vice Presidents Victoria  McCaster & Terri Torrez, Vice President Philanthropy Dianne Walcher,  Vice President Resource Development Cindee Blattman, Recording Secretary Karen Thagard, Corresponding Secretary Nancy Jumper, Treasurer Mimi Holcombe, Public Relations Eilene Fletcher, Education Anne Morley, Strategic Planning Darelene Carpenter and Assisteens® Coordinators Donna Sandidge & Kim Bache.

Assistance League of Saddleback Valley is a nonprofit volunteer organization that puts caring and commitment into action by providing service to children, families and the elderly in the Saddleback Valley Communities.
