Dentist Offers Cash for Candy in Mission Viejo

Here's what's happening this week in Mission Viejo.

Here is a look ahead to events and happenings in Mission Viejo and Orange County for Monday, Nov. 4.

  1. Do your little ghouls and ghosts have leftover Halloween candy? They can sell it to Mission Viejo dentist Sarah Zirakzadeh for $1/pound. The candy will be sent to troops overseas, so no bites or opened candy, please. When: Monday, Nov. 4 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. & Wed., Nov. 6 from 
     2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  2. The Hot Ninja Defenders will offer a free self defense training for young women Thursday at 6 p.m. at Rampage Fitness Academy, 23681 Via Linda.
  3. The Mission Viejo High pep squad hosts a mother/daughter shopping experience Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. inside the school's multipurpose room.
  4. One in five teens considers suicide and 60 percent know someone who has committed suicide. On Thursday from 7-8 p.m. at Crown Valley Community Park in Laguna Niguel, a representative from suicide specialty group Didi Hisrch Mental Health Services will discuss the nature of suicide, risk factors and warning signs. Check the flyer for more info
  5. Learn how you can reduce your cancer risk and maintain a commitment to live a healthy life Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Saddleback Memorial's health fair, 24451 Health Center Drive. Learn how to screen for cancer at the right time and with the right test. No registration required.
