Free Haunted House, Novice Wrestling Clinic and Starve a Vampire Day

Check out these exciting events coming up this week in Mission Viejo.

Whether you're looking for scares, or you want to show that you care, you can find a local event that fits you this week. Here are five events taking place around Mission Viejo:

  1. Starve a Vampire Day is being celebrated at the Kaleidoscope Center, 27741 Crown Valley Pkwy, on Halloween from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Red Cross is helping with this blood donation event.
  2. Ever consider wrestling for your child? A parent meeting will be held for the Big Kat Youth Wrestling team at Capistrano Valley High on Wednesday starting at 6 p.m. Also, Friday is a day off for CUSD students, so if anyone wants to learn how to wrestle instead, Big Kat is offering a clinic from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for novice wrestlers. A suggested $45 donation will help the club cover its expenses.
  3. Want to visit a free local haunted house? The Bunch haunted house at 25296 Terreno will be held from sundown until 10 p.m. on Oct. 30 and 31. Recommended for kids 12 and over.
  4. Mission Viejo High theater students are participating in the "Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat" food drive to help the county's estimated 228,000 children who face hunger each month. They will be in costume collecting donations in Mission Viejo neighborhoods on Friday, Nov. 1. For information on how to help, contact theater director Kathy Harris at 949-586-0289.
  5. The 4th Prescribe Hope Golf Tournament will support two local charities who provide medical service for the most underserved Orange County residents. The tourney begins Monday, Oct. 28 at 7 a.m.
