Preschool Openings, Running Club and Star in a Musical in Mission Viejo

Here is a look ahead to events and happenings in Mission Viejo and Orange County from Jan. 20-26. 

  1. There are preschool openings at Castille Elementary, 24042 Vía La Coruna. The classes are for kids 3-5 and take place either two days a week or three days a week. Each is available Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. If you are interested in enrolling, contact Jodie Trainer at (949) 234-5389.

  2. Do you have a boy or girl in grades 3-8 who loves running? The Saddleback Running Club has ongoing open enrollment for its upcoming track season. The program runs year-round and offers three training sessions per week.
  3. Peppino D’Agostino, a classical and acoustic guitar virtuoso, will return to the Mission Viejo stage on Saturday, January 25. He will appear in the Lord of the Strings concert at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 200 Civic Center.

  4. Dr. Ledford Powell will review lung cancer risk factors and share details about a quick, easy screening method Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in Laguna Hills.

  5. Ever want to be in a musical? Everyone who tries out gets a part in an upcoming rendition of Beauty and the Beast. Each cast performs three times. Professionals in drama, dance and voice coach you at every rehearsal. Cost: $244. Details here.
