Talk Like a Pirate, Win a Free Donut

It's your favorite silly holiday—talk like a pirate day!

Here are four things to keep you informed about Mission Viejo and Orange County for Thursday, Sept. 19.

  1. Trabuco Hills High ceramics students are helping the hungry in an event called "Empty Bowls." They will provide the bowls that will hold seven soups prepared by local chefs at the $75/plate fundraiser. The event will happen at 6 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the El Niguel Country Club, 23700 Club House Drive, Laguna Niguel.
  2. Yaaar, ye landlubber! Stop yer squawkin' and hoist sail for Krispy Kreme, 25802 El Paseo Ave. Everyone talking like a pirate today gets a free glazed original donut. If you come in full pirate regalia, you can help yourself to a full dozen.
  3. The Saddleback College Community Chorale will take audiences on a choral journey from dawn through dusk, the beauty of the stars and moon, and the darkness of night on Sunday, October 13th at 4:00 p.m. in the McKinney Theatre. Conducted by Dr. Scott Farthing, with pianist Pennie Foster, the chorale will perform works by Ramnish, Barnum, Childs, and others. Tickets are $15 general and $10 students/seniors. Call 949-582-4656.

  4. Mission Viejo High hosts girls volleyball vs. Beckman Thursday night at 5:15 p.m.
