Come meet a former interpreter, now business owner of an Asian-style foot massage and reflexology shop in Mission Viejo

After visiting John Wang, owner of Energy Touch Foot Massage and Reflexology, an old question came to mind: Which would you rather have, money or a massage? In my experience, massage provides a benefit I value more than money: the feeling that all is right with the world, that I want for nothing. On the other hand, with an endless supply of money, I could hire a masseuse to follow me around all day. In fact, the cost of massage is the only thing that separates me from having them uber-frequently. But today, my life has changed! In the Village Center at Marguerite and La Paz, between CVS Drugs and Stein Mart, is a store window that reads: Foot Reflexology Massage $25/hour. The shop is called Energy Touch. Susan, I have the owner's email address. I'll forward your comment to him. BTW, a few weeks ago, I went there for a massage also - after 6pm, of course, to save the $5 :). No noise, probably because the restaurant next door was closed. The massage was wonderful. I'm going again this weekend. Am curious how the massage may vary among their staff.   more ›

UPDATED: Man Accused of Impersonating Cop for Naked Massage Pleads Not Guilty

Update April 1 at 6:45 p.m.: LaPorte entered a "not guilty" plea in court in Newport Beach today, City News Service reports. He's scheduled for a pretrial hearing on April 22. Below is our story from before the arraignment. A former Illinois cop accused of impersonating a police officer so as to perform a bogus inspection and ask for money and a massage at Lake Forest's Golden Spa parlor will be arraigned Friday, according to the District Attorney's office. Mission Viejo resident Edward Justin La Porte, 47, is accused of entering the parlor around noon Jan 31 and telling the manager there that he was a police officer investigating a complaint filed against the business, said Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino.
