The Easton Area Public Library is situated in the handsome blue stone and granite "Carnegie Library" at 515 Church Street, overlooking the downtown, with branches on the South Side and in Palmer Township. Built in 1901, but continuing a service begun in 1811, the Library is a thriving cultural hub for children, young adults, and adults. We offer a wealth of services and programs: the latest best sellers;  audio books, including ones that are easily downloaded to PC or MP3 player; the latest music CDs, but classics, too; shelves of DVDs;and a large variety of periodicals and national and regional newspapers. Our 19 computers with internet connection are available to all patrons along with a number of free computer classes. For those with their own computers, we also have WiFi. Faxing service is also available at a fee.

EAPL is especially proud of its Youth Services department with its long list of events like story times, nature programs, Lunch with the Librarian, and family nights.

Our trained staff, many with master's degrees in library science, are available to assist at the circulation or reference desks, but the Library's services are only a touch away on your home computer. Find a book or DVD in our Online Catalog, place a request, conduct research on our website, and receive email reminders when your items are due.

For history buffs and genealogists, the Marx Room is a trove of local history with sources dating back to the 18th century that attracts people from around the country.

The Library is also an active community center with monthly foreign films, lectures and programs, and book discussion groups.

As the District Library Center for eastern Northampton County and Monroe County, the Easton Area Public Library acts in an advisory capacity to promote and support the region's local libraries, knowing that a strong library system is essential for a dynamic community and a free society.
