I love being a grandmother. Love it. I'm "Grammy" to my eight grandchildren. Five of them live in Laguna Niguel, two live in Colorado, and one just moved back from India. They range in age from eleven to seven weeks. Seven are girls. The truth is, I always wanted to be a Grammy because my grandmother lived with us when I was growing up, and she was the best Grandma ever. We called her Momo. Most of my blogs will include her, because she's my hero.

I'm in my 50s, married for 36 years to Ron, and moved to Laguna Niguel 10 years ago. We have a 75-pound red-haired Golden Retriever who we rescued. His name is Roscoe, and aside from a mad gallop around the neighborhood the second day we had him, he's settled in.

The first photo is of me at age five. I'm hugging the newborn Shetland pony who lived next door, named Tiny Tim. His mother, Baby Doll, was mean, so I'm also looking out of the corner of my eye.

The caption calls me "the son of" my parents, which provided for much sibling strife over the next several years. The second photo is of Ron and I holding our second-youngest grandchild, Ella, who just moved back from India. Isn't she the cutest?
