Mission Viejo Councilman Frank Ury won key endorsements today in his bid to become an Orange County supervisor.

Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens and District Attorney Tony Rackauckas have both lent their names to Ury’s efforts.

“Frank has worked closely with our department on programs that enhance the public safety of not only his city, but all of South Orange County,” Hutchens said in a statement.

Ury is being termed-out in his role as a Mission Viejo Councilman.

Rackauckas called Ury one of the “most dedicated public servants” with whom he has worked.

The fifth district supervisor represents San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest and Rancho Santa Margarita.

"Ury is being termed-out in his role as a Mission Viejo Councilman." Yes, but when? It is kinda important to know that.

Pete's story linked in this story doesn't say. So I looked it up for you. He was first elected in 2004. MV set term limits at three consecutive terms. There you have it; 2016 would be his last year in office if he doesn't go anywhere else.

If he does win his bid for the OC Supervisors, then there will be a special election at some point to fill his spot on the council. Might be the perfect time for you to run Shri!!

Mission Viejo's loss will be the county's gain. Frank will represent South OC well.

Watching Frank Ury over the years during council meetings and at events has proven to me that he would make an extraordinary supervisor. He is extremely bright and hard working.

Penny: Trish Kelley is being termed out this year and NOT Ury! Yeah, right really bright, lol Frank or Cody? With an IQ far bellow RT , and being a delusional fact stretcher, who in his right mind would think that this guy will be ever elected as OC supervisor? MV could not wait more for URY to be termed out in 2 years. Not to worry MV there will be no need for a special election. It is sad that Ury will be for 2 more years on the MV City council, really sad.
