Gay Marriage Ruling: Mission Viejo Reacts

Gay marriage is OK, the highest court says. How do you feel about that?

This week the U.S. Supreme Court paved the way for gay marriage in California.

Here's how Mission Viejo residents respond to the Supreme Court's decisions:

  • “America is all about the people and what the people think. We voiced our opinion with Proposition 8 and now they call it unconstitutional? I think it is somewhat hypocritical.” — Gabriel Blank
  • “It is another step forward for equality in this country. The next thing people need to fix is the criminal justice department.” — Frank Kenney
  • “I feel it is about time everyone had the right to marry that person they love. We are at a point in our society that we have a president of color, a woman has a right to an abortion, and soon all states will legalize marijuana.” — Kim Paepke
  • “I think it is great that it was dismissed. The people I care about that didn’t have the same rights as I have finally have the social equality they deserve.” — Austen Ward
  • “I have always agreed with gay couples having the same rights as a heterosexual couple.” — Valery Fregoso
